thoughts of a quiet dreamer

Wow, It’s been what feels like forever, a little under a month since I’ve posted. I honestly don’t know where the time goes anymore. Some stranger told me on my 21st birthday to get ready that it only flys by from here, it amazing how true that is. I blinked and January is gone. Febuary is almost its first week in.

Life has been so busy for me over the past month, I took some time off from the church and work in the begining of the year and went up to Pennslyvania, I visited some friends up there like I try to do at least once a year and came back home to get back in the grove of things, since I have been back, it never stops, I am amazed I’m able to sit here and write, I tell you I don’t know how Trevor and Anthony do it, blogging the way they do, I know they are just as busy if not more so then me, so kudos to you two! 

So much is going on right now, I was determined for 2008 to be unlike any other year, and it has been recently. I’m making new friends, doing new things, experiencing seasons of other peoples lives with them, it’s pretty amazing.

I think one of the few things I have gotten to do outside of school, work and the church a lot, is go to the movies. Which has been great because there have been some pretty amazing movies come out recently. Some of them have suprised me at how good they are, while others I expected to be great and were, I don’t think I have seen a ‘bad’ movie yet this year and I have seen A LOT! 27 Dresses, Cloverfield, The Bucket List, Mad Money, and Atonement. It’s funny my friend Shawn talked the other day about how much I go to the movies, and to be honest I am just a movie goer if I had to sacrifice every other form of the ‘entertainment’ category in my budget it would all go to movies. I just really enjoy them. I love seeing someone’s story brought to life. Hopefully I will have that fortuante opportunity someday. I have to say though as cheesy as it may sound 27 Dresses got to me the most. All about this girl who is in all of her friends weddings and helps them plan them and all. She’s totally ‘in love’ with her boss, and this guy Kevin comes along. He starts out like he’s trying to get to know her but really its for other reasons, and then ends up falling her. I read a review on it refering to the men in the movie as the “wrong-right-guy” and the “right-wrong-guy” What does this mean you ask? The “right-wrong-guy” is who the main character is suppose to be with and the “wrong-right-guy” is the one she thinks she is suppose to be with, but hasn’t really explored it enough to realize she’s wrong. This movie defantely taught me, no settling! Something I already know of quite well, also not to change! Don’t change for anyone! Be who you are and you will find someone who appreciates that.

Another new addition to my life, as of early last week. I got the iPhone. You know it’s funny that I got this phone because when it came out last year I swore it off and said I’d never get it I have no use for that!! Besides I am a Verizon customer! Hahaha….Yes I am laughing at my self too…

Pastor Alan says I will get addicted to it and never put it down and of course now whenever I bump into him in the church I am on it. That is not a sign Pastor Alan!!! Although I do love it, and it is a handy little gadget to have around, I mean I don’t have to wait to look things up now and figure stuff out when I get home I can do it right in the palm of my hand. I really love that I get to be apart of this generation! It’s a pretty amazing time that we live in.

The only issue I have had with this phone is that it FROZE on me Sunday, it was trying to do to many things at once I think, a text message came through at the exact same time as a phone call was ending and it was just not liking that. Anyways Trevor will probably not like me dissing his Apple products on my blog so let me stop….

 School is going well. I have to write a paper for my Anthropology class on a group that I am apart of, a group of people that is such as a group of friends, a club, my job, church. I have to write all kinds of stuff about behavior and roles in the group in what not. I haven’t decided who I am writing about so if anyone has any specific group you know that I am envovled in and think would be a good LENGTHY topic. Let me know!!!

 So, last I heard, word on the street is we are nearing an end of the 07-08 WGA Strike, talks resumed on January 25th after no disscussign between the Guild and the AMPTP since Dec 7th.

Rumor mill was buzzing on Sunday when once exec boasted at the Super Bowl that it was over, truth is it’s still be panned out. The cut off to salvage the three months of the television season that remains is Friday Feb 15th, if it’s over by then some shows will be able to return to work and finish off the remainder of the season. No word yet on how storylines in shows will be effected, but I’m sure some things are subject to change.  Last I read the only thing left to agree on was an increase on current residuals, and that a deal on new media had been reached. I have to say, although I have supported the writers from the very begining, I’m ready for The Office and Saturday Night Live to return, plus we neeed to clean out some of this crap reality…

So in the past it would be odd for me to talk about politics, but recently it’s something I have become very interested in and have actually started considering minor in Politcal Science but with an election this year, commericals and especially celebrity endoresments and the things some of  these people come up with, really catch my eye. This is by far one of my most favorite things I have seen so far…
